Self-criticism can bring us down, lower our self-esteem when it becomes all about comparing ourselves to others. When this occurs, we quickly lose sight of our progress, and our confidence is reduced.
This leads us to think in definitive terms that we’ve either succeeded or failed. This prevents us from seeing the incremental improvements that are often small, but so very important.
Comparisons make us lose objectivity and self-awareness, and we lose sight of the situation with clarity by focusing on a single aspect of our lives and often exaggerating it out of proportion.
The key is always to judge yourself against our prior accomplishments and not others!
Meditation helps us quickly restore confidence and see matters in a more balanced way.
